With Foden looking like an in form Andress Iniesta, it was an Inevitable win from the citizens of the Etihad. Foden scoring on Sunday against United it was a cherry on top. He has Already scored 6 goals against united so far in his career. City completely dissected Man united Even John Stones looked like a football Genius which he is but he looked more than great.
On Sunday, March 3rd Man City Hosted Man Utd at the Etihad stadium. most of us expected nothing but a dramatic and competitive match. It was rather a one-sided match, even though Man Utd’s Marcus Rashford opened the score with a banger. Manchester United were lacking so much that it felt and looked like all they could do is defend.
Manchester City are not unbeatable in the premier league. City drew against crystal palace, against Chelsea, barely passed against Brentford, were beaten by Aston Villa. Given all these stats against some decent team, we expected United to be excellent, or at least prove the world wrong, and give Manchester City a fair fight.
The citizens were playing so relaxed. Controlled the game with so much ease. with the type of players that city have, you cannot be watching them, you have to make them run if you think I’m kidding watch their matches against Liverpool, the reds keep them on their toes. one thing we’ve noticed so far about Pep Guardiola’s teams, they’re not physical and they don’t like anyone who’s too physical. We have seen Teams like Atletico and Liverpool challenge Man city’s physicality and nearly killing the entire Man city squad. Back when Pep was in Barca, the only way Mourinho’s Madrid side stopped Barca at the time was being aggressive and running them (Barca players) down.
A Tactical Dissection of Manchester Derby’s Surprising One-Sided Affair
Manchester city had 27 shots and of them on target with a 73% of ball Possession, in comparison to Manchester united, who only had 27% of possession and 3 shots with only one shot on target. Very poor from united. Given United’s recent performance, they could and should have done better.
